Nexenta Awarded Innovation Prize for Leadership in Software-Defined Storage
SANTA CLARA, California – October 28, 2013 - Nexenta (@Nexenta), the global leader of Software-Defined Storage (SDS) (#softwaredefinedstorage) solutions, was recently recognized as an Innovation Leader by IT Brand Pulse, a trust source of data and analysis about IT infrastructure. The award is based on a survey of IT professionals who voted Nexenta as the company who has Contributed Most to Software Defined Storage Innovation, 2008-2013.
Respondents were asked: “Who do you believe contributed most to Software Defined Storage innovation during the last 5 years?” Nexenta was voted as the winner from among the 7 answer choices as well as the opportunity to write in a vendor name. Respondents to the survey were solicited from over 1,000,000 members of 100+ online IT groups, and from the IT Brand Pulse IT pro/end user database.
Nexenta CEO Tarkan Maner accepted the award from IT Brand Pulse CEO Frank Berry during a ceremony at Open Server/Open Storage Summit on October 23, 2013.
"We are honored to be recognized by IT Brand Pulse for Nexenta's leadership and innovation," according to Nexenta CEO Tarkan Maner. "The fact that the award is voted upon by IT end users makes the recognition that much more satisfying."
"An IT Brand Pulse award tells the world that a company is doing the job with the only audience that really counts – their end users," said IT Brand Pulse CEO Frank Berry. "I know that Nexenta is particularly proud of the recognition given that many of the voters are also their customers."
The survey was conducted in September/October 2013 and asked respondents which vendors they perceived as the leader in 17 product categories: product categories: SDN Platform, SDN Orchestration Software, SDN Controller, SDN Virtual Switch, SDN Switch, Layer 4-7 SDN Services Platform, VXLAN Gateway, SDN ASICs, SDN Monitoring, Microserver, Industry Standard Server, Open Compute Project Server, Open Compute Project Server Processor, Enterprise Hard Disk Drive (HDD), Open Compute Project Storage, Desktop Virtualization (VDI) and Cloud Operating Platform.
