On Monday, 5/6/2019, DataDirect Networks announced the intent to acquire Nexenta. We are very excited about joining the fast-growing DDN family, and accelerating our massive market disruption which is helping organizations digitally transform their legacy IT infrastructures thanks to our innovative and award-winning 5G and IoT-driven software portfolio.
As part of the DDN family, we will scale financially, operationally, and geographically, giving our customers and partners the freedom and agility to operate and innovate efficiently. We intend to build and expand on DDN’s market-leading AI and Multi-Cloud capabilities via Nexenta’s industry-leading Software-Defined Storage (SDS) solutions.
This acquisition means we will be able to continue to deliver the most innovative SDS solutions yet, thanks to DDN and Nexenta’s shared goals. DDN is committed to supporting you and your Nexenta solutions in the best way for today and tomorrow.
As you may have questions regarding the future of Nexenta in light of the DDN acquisition, we encourage you to reach out to us, so we can answer those questions. At the top of our priority list is you, our customers and partners of Nexenta and how we can best support you and your solutions starting today.
We want to offer some reassurances to our customers. Your existing support contract will continue unaffected, and the Nexenta support systems and processes are fully operational. All existing Nexenta platforms will be maintained and are available for purchase. The Nexenta team is preparing for both near-term and long-term product releases, with planning to refine and improve the product roadmaps for short and long term.
The Nexenta by DDN business will continue the same way it has since inception. It will be operated as an independent division of DDN and will retain its best features: Great support, innovative engineering, a communicative and responsive field team, supported by a highly committed and passionate executive team that believes in the massive market disruption and adoption vis the best SDS solutions in the market. We will integrate those solutions into DDN family over time to create the best value for our greatest resources: You, our customers and partners.
DDN’s decision to acquire Nexenta was based on their firm belief in Nexenta’s technology and in DDN’s ability to provide the very best foundation for the future success of that technology in the quest for building the best solutions for AI and Multi-Cloud Data Management and extending that leadership to SDS-driven 5G and IoT solutions via Nexenta.
